Pawfect Steps Dog Walking

We are a very friendly, family run business that covers all of Dereham and the surrounding villages for dog walking and the other pet services we provide.

We have many years of experience of both walking and looking after dogs and cats, and everything we do is fully insured. Our dog walking van is fitted with DEFRA Approved high quality custom dog cages, designed for the safety and the comfort of all the dogs who travel with us. We use the award winning range of ‘Guardsman’ Dog Guards in all our other vehicles.

For our customers' added peace of mind, all of our employees are Canine First Aid trained and are 'DBS Checked', as we hold keys for our customers properties which we enter, often when they are not at home. We have also completed training on greater awareness and understanding of Canine Body Language, which allows us to be more responsive to our dogs we walk.

In addition to the dog walking, dog sitting, puppy visits and holiday cat pop-in services we provide, we also donate some of our time and get involved in charity work in relation to dogs and we help out several small dog rescue groups by carrying out their 'Home Checks' for them.

The Home Checks are part of the processes when someone wants to rescue a dog. When requested by the a rescue group, one of us will visit the person or family who are looking to rescue a dog, at their home and carry out some checks with them, such as ensuring both they and their property are suitable for the rescue dog.

This does involve some paperwork with the charities, but we don't mind the extra work, as it’s such a lovely feeling being able to help rescue dogs find their new loving 'forever' home's.

TRANSPORT

The inside of our van has been specially designed and fitted with a made to measure dog transportation safety cage system, built to the very highest quality and specification's.

The safety of the dogs is the number one reason for having these cages in the van. In addition to being a solid build, each cage is fitted with an escape hatch and also has safety locks on the outside of each cage door. There is waterproof non-slip dog matting bonded to the floors in each cage, which ensures the dogs don't slip or slide about when the van is moving or when they are getting into or out of the cages. We also have a jump board at the rear cages which allows your pooches to get into and out of the rear cages with ease.

This cage system maximises every bit of space there is in the van helping to ensure the dogs are both comfortable and happy whilst travelling with us, while allowing them plenty of fresh air from the ventilation system.

The inside of the van is also fitted with a LED lighting system, so for dogs who are not used to travelling inside a van are not left in the dark.

Our other vehicles are all fitted with the award winning range of ‘Guardsman’ Dog Guards.
